6 Stages to Surgical Success!
There is nothing to be shy about, Helen & Sara are dedicated advisers for cosmetic surgery and speak with many patients like yourself every day. When you get in touch, we will answer any questions, and help you choose the surgeon that is right for your chest concerns.
We are unique at Pall Mall Cosmetics, unlike other clinics who arrange countless sales meetings and calls, we offer direct consultations with your chosen surgeon at your first visit. So you can get quality time with the person who will perform your gynaecomastia surgery. The surgeon can examine your chest area and assess the issues you have with male breasts.
You can ask as many questions as needed, and hear from the surgeon about what results can be achieved and any risks that may be involved with the surgical procedure.
Before any gynaecomastia surgery can take place, we will invite you to attend a pre-operative assessment in clinic. Here you will meet the nurse who will perform a series of checks to make sure you a medically fit for surgery. We check all patients for MRSA and may conduct some blood/urine tests too. One of the main parts of the pre-operative assessment for male breast reduction is taking photographs to have a medical record of your chest area before surgery.
You will have time to ask as many questions as needed, and the Nurse will be on hand to guide you through your final days before surgery including what to bring, when to arrive and how to prepare on the day.
On the day of surgery, you will attend our own private hospital in Newton-le-Willows. There is free on-site parking and on arrival, you will be greeted by the Nurse who will take you to your room, a beautiful and clean en-suite for your every comfort. The Surgeon will also visit to check you are fit and well and ask for final consent before proceeding to theatre. Once sedated with a local or general anaesthetic, the surgeon will perform the male breast reduction through a small incision, removing fat and any excess tissue. The operation is quick and simple with a short recovery time
Following surgery, you will not be abandoned! You will be invited to come into clinic and see the Surgeon/Nurse regularly, typically at 1, 2 and 6 weeks after surgery. This allows the Nurse or Surgeon to check your recovery and take further photographs to record the changes in your chest profile.
We have a world-class aftercare programme with unlimited cover post surgery. You can come into clinic as many times as you want, we’re here to make sure you have the best possible results.
What Causes Gynaecomastia?
Gynaecomastia is a medical condition, the presence of excess breast tissue can occur for a number of reasons including weight loss or changes during puberty. It is a common condition that affects men of all ages, from teenage boys to older men, although it can affect men at any time in your life.
Living With Gynaecomastia
Dubbed ‘man-boobs’ by the media, gynaecomastia can be an upsetting condition to live with for physical and emotional reasons. In some cases, the chest area can be tender to touch or painful.
Many men have tried to reduce the effects by dietary changes, training hard, performing workouts in the gym, or increasing other forms of physical exercise. Though sometimes excess fat or tissue in the chest area cannot be burnt off, and remains stubborn and needs surgical intervention to remove; a reason that men across the UK choose to undergo cosmetic surgery with ourselves.
Why Do I Need To Go Private?
The NHS does not commonly carry out male breast reductions unless there is an associated and significant distress or pain. For this reason, many men choose to have the procedure done at a private healthcare clinic such as Pall Mall Cosmetics. There is no waiting list, and you do not need any referral to have an operation performed.
We can ensure your safety at our CQC (care quality commission) regulated hospital in Newton-le-Willows and city centre clinics in Manchester or Liverpool. Our surgeons mostly come from the NHS, so you get the same quality of surgery, but in a safe, clean and professional private clinical environment.
Our surgeons also strive for excellence, being members of BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgeons). A clear demonstration of our ability to meet the gold standard of care you would expect from an elite surgical hospital.
Our expected price range is below, but really – we’d love to meet with you first to gain a better understanding of what you are looking for. We don’t apply a “one size fits all” approach to gynaecomastia surgery, and as such the exact price of your own male breast reduction may depend on your exact requirements.
