Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) Surgery
Reshape and lift your breasts into a more youthful, full and firm appearance
Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) Surgery is a popular procedure that women choose to reshape the breast to achieve a more youthful, full and firm appearance. Women whose breasts have lost shape/fullness after childbirth weight loss or just simply part of the ageing process. After their surgery, women have told us they are much happier with the outcome: a fuller, firmer, lifted, symmetrical bust!
You may wish to combine this procedure with breast implants too, if you are interested to increase the size of your breasts alongside the uplift – a common combination we see at Pall Mall Cosmetics.

A mastopexy, commonly known as a “breast uplift”, “breast uplift” or “boob lift” surgery, is a procedure to reshape your breasts into a more youthful and firm appearance. A Consultant Breast Surgeon or Consultant Plastic Surgeon does this by removing excess skin from underneath your breasts, and then tightening the skin and tissue; the nipple can then be re-positioned to complete your new look.

6 Stages to Surgical Success!
There is nothing to be shy about, our team are dedicated advisers for cosmetic surgery and speak with many women every day. When you get in touch, we will answer any questions no matter how small, and help you choose the surgeon that is right for your breast concerns.
We offer consultations with your chosen surgeon at your very first visit. So you can get quality time with the person who could perform your surgery. The surgeon can discuss your concerns, what you would like to achieve with the size, shape and position of your breasts, examine your chest area and talk you through any risks involved with the procedure and your likely recovery and aftercare.
All of our surgeons are accredited by the General Medical Council in the UK, are members of BAAPS & BAPRAS and have profiles you can view on our website. Offering you experience, safety and the gold standard of care.
During your consultation, which normally lasts around 20-45 minutes, you can ask as many questions as needed, and hear from the surgeon about the procedure, your recovery, what results can be achieved and any risks that may be involved.
Before any breast surgery can take place, we will invite you to attend a pre-operative assessment in clinic. Here you will meet the nurse who will perform a series of checks to make sure you a medically fit for surgery. We check all patients for MRSA and may conduct some blood/urine tests too. One of the main parts of the pre-operative assessment for a breast uplift is taking photographs to have a medical record of your chest area before surgery.
You will have time to ask as many questions as needed, and the Nurse will be on hand to guide you through your final days before surgery including what to bring, when to arrive and how to prepare on the day.
On the day of surgery, you will attend our own private hospital in Newton-le-Willows. There is free on-site parking and once checked in on arrival, you will be greeted by our Nurse who will take you to your room, a beautiful, spacious and clean en-suite for your every comfort. The Surgeon will also visit to check you are fit and well and ask for final consent before proceeding to theatre. Once sedated with a general anaesthetic, the surgeon will perform the mastopexy procedure.
Following surgery, you will not be abandoned! You will be invited to come into clinic and see the Surgeon/Nurse regularly, typically at 1, 2, 6 and 12 weeks after surgery. This allows the Nurse or Surgeon to physically check your healing, recovery and take further photographs to record the changes in your breast profile.
We have a comprehensive aftercare programme with unlimited follow-ups post surgery. You can come into clinic as many times as you want, we’re here to make sure you have the best possible results and a comfortable, stress-free recovery.
When Is It Common To Have A Breast Uplift?
A breast uplift procedure is a common surgery performed to create a “fuller” and more youthful appearance of a woman’s breasts. Women may opt for a breast mastopexy procedure privately if they have:
- Lost fullness and shape in their breasts after:
- Child-birth / pregnancy
- Weight loss
- Natural ageing process
- One breast that is bigger/smaller or hangs lower
- Breasts that are no longer firm and pert
- Breasts that appear “flat” or “empty”*
- Asymmetrical breasts
- Deflated breasts with loose skin and sagginess/sagging/lost elasticity
A mastopexy is a simple procedure to rejuvenate the appearance of the breasts. The procedure will mean your breasts can look and feel firmer, with more volume, fullness and shape. It is often performed alongside breast enlargement, breast reduction or (mini-) abdominoplasty to help achieve the desired look.
What Aftercare Can I Expect?
Brest Uplift is a commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedure at Pall Mall Cosmetics and indeed across the world. With all procedures, there are risks involved and your chosen surgeon will discuss any risks with you in great detail.
We have a dedicated approach to after-care. Your care continues as long as you need us! We have our own team of nurses, who will see you regularly at post-op, follow up appointments. Your surgeon will also review your progress to ensure you are fully happy with the outcome of your surgery. For peace of mind, we have a 24/7 direct mobile number to our Nurse who can discuss any concerns you may have during your healing and recovery.
For full information on our comprehensive aftercare programme – please see our aftercare information.
What Does A Breast Uplift Procedure Involve?
A breast mastopexy operation involves removing excess skin from beneath the breast and tightening the skin and breast tissue. The surgeon will make a small incision around the areola, vertically down to below the breast and finally horizontally along the crease – this is often referred to as an “anchor scar” and fades significantly with time. The nipple may be re-positioned, typically lifted higher, to suit the new shape of the breast.
Who Performs The Surgery?
We have a selection of highly skilled & experienced surgeons who have to go through a rigorous Practising Privileges process at Pall Mall Cosmetics. Many hold substantive NHS positions at local hospital and hold full indemnity insurance. Why Do I Need To Go Private?
The NHS does not commonly carry out breast up lift procedures unless there is an associated and significant distress or pain. For this reason, many women choose to have the mastopexy procedure done at a private healthcare clinic such as Pall Mall Cosmetics. There is no waiting list, and you do not need any referral to have an operation performed.
We can ensure your safety at our CQC (care quality commission) regulated hospital in Newton-le-Willows and city centre clinics in Manchester or Liverpool. Our surgeons mostly come from the NHS, so you get the same quality of surgery, but in a safe, clean and professional private clinical environment.
Our surgeons also strive for excellence, being members of BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgeons). A clear demonstration of our ability to meet the gold standard of care you would expect from an elite surgical hospital.
