For a more slender facial profile to the cheeks, chin, neckline and jawline.
The face is often the hardest place to lose weight, yet the easiest place to gain it! Exercise and diet often do not lead to significant results for the face areas – with the cheeks, chin and jawline being the most stubborn areas. Facial liposuction is a highly effective way to remove this excess weight, creating a sculpted and contoured outcome. The cheeks, chin, jawline and neck are the most common areas for facial liposuction to be performed.
Facial Liposuction Information
Facial Liposuction uses the same techniques as liposuction on other areas of the body, however, less fat is removed, using much smaller incision points. The smaller incision points mean that surgeons can be extremely precise in their sculpting, in order to achieve a nice countered outcome. The lower volume of fat removed allows the procedure to be much quicker, leading to a far shorter recovery time.
The small incisions also minimise the risk of infection, whilst allowing patients to under much less downtime and pain.
Based on the small volumes of fat extracted, the levels of discomfort are very low, with minimal bruising, swelling or pain.
The cannulas used for facial liposuction have a very small diameter, meaning that there is minimal scarring, resulting in a discreet outcome.
The pain is again very low, with ice and mild painkillers enough to make you feel great again!
Best till last – after the procedure, the skin is often tighter, and more toned. Once the skin is fully recovered, with skin tissues healed, the skin is much more resilient than before the procedure!
The procedure itself only requires between 1-2 hours in theatre and can be done under local or general anaesthesia.
Firstly, anaesthetic fluid is placed on the area.
Then, small incisions are made on or around the area that fat will be removed.
Using a power-assisted liposuction machine, the surgeon breaks up the fat, using carefully selected frequency vibrations, and withdraws it through a cannula.
This is repeated for each area of the face.
Once all the fat is removed, the cannula is removed and the incisions are closed using dissolvable sutures.
Every patient has different desired outcomes – some want to target the cheek only, some want to target the chin and cheeks, etc! Whilst we can give you a starting price, we would really love to meet with you in order to fully understand how we can help you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
After the procedure, most patients return to work within a few days – 1 week. Swelling and bruising may appear, but should fully fade within a few weeks.
The procedure is suitable for any patient with a relatively stable body weight, where there is excess skin / fat present on the facial area. The procedure is also able to remove “double chins” and remove excess fat around the mid and lower face.
The outcomes after the procedure are excellent and last for years. It is important to note that the fat cells that are extracted will not return, however, if you gain weight again then the appearance will change.
The surgeon will carefully make small incisions along the natural folds on the face – under the jawline / chin – hence scars are very discreet and often not visible at all.
You may face mild discomfort, however painkillers and ice pack/heat compression will alleviate most of the pain. Swelling typically disappears after 10 days and the recommended compression garment will speed up the recovery process.
